Bachelor of Science - Speech Pathology and Audiology

Speech pathology and audiology is the study of communication disorders. Speech-language pathologists and audiologists evaluate, treat, prevent, and research communication disorders and work with individuals of all ages, from infants to the elderly. Speech-language pathologists evaluate and treat speech disorders such as stuttering and articulation problems. They also work with language problems that result from having a stroke or brain injury as well as delayed language and literacy. Additional expertise include swallowing and voice disorders. Audiologists assess and manage disorders of hearing and balance. They select and fit patients with hearing aids and hearing protective devices.

Students may apply for admission to the Speech Pathology and Audiology major after taking the four pre-major courses and if they have earned a cumulative GPA. of 3.0 and a 3.0 in the Speech Pathology and Audiology pre-major courses.
