Students may select concentrations in Community Health, Gerontology, and Health Services Management. Additionally, this major is a perfect choice for students who are interested in careers in teaching.
The program provides a combination of structure and flexibility, including four required courses and eight major elective courses, making it a feasible choice for transfer students. When selecting major elective courses, students may tailor the program to their particular interests and career goals. Whether students are interested in education, dispute resolution, helping aging populations, or improving healthcare, this program offers many opportunities for career development through credit-earning internships at a variety of NYC area worksites.
Demand has never been higher for professionals who specialize in gerontology. The Gerontology concentration brings focus to the study of aging. It is concerned with the psychological, sociological and behavioral aspects of the life course and lifespan.
