The 2-Semester Pathway - Undergraduate Foundation Programme - Engineering and Physical Sciences is a one-year programme offers successful students guaranteed progression to Loughborough University. This programme is designed to prepare international students, who have completed senior secondary education, for entry to undergraduate studies at the university.
The International Foundation Programme is set at level 3, which is equivalent to A-level standard in the United Kingdom. The two semester programme lasts one academic year [nine months]. Each semester includes, on average, 13 teaching weeks, one reading week and one assessment week. On average, students will undertake 21 (and up to 25) hours of classroom-based study per week. This programme includes English and three academic subject modules. English will be integrated into the teaching of academic subjects, as well as being taught separately if they need additional support to develop their English language. They will be assessed at regular intervals throughout the programme to ensure they are making the progress required to successfully complete the programme. Full assessment of the programme will take place in the final semester. Assessment methodologies are aligned to those that will be experienced in the University environment, and include project work, essays, and presentations.
Integrated Masters - Master of Engineering (MEng) (Honours) - Sports Technology:
Sports Technology combines the excellence of both sports science and technology. The Master of Engineering (MEng) (Honours) - Sports Technology course covers industrial design, human factors and marketing for the sports equipment sector and elite sport. It combines the excellence of engineering science, measurement and analysis, and sports science to relate the playing, or use characteristics, of sporting equipment to the underlying principles of product design. It reinforces this by providing an up-to-date knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials, to enable improvements in sports product performance and ease of use. The course covers industrial design, human factors and marketing for the sports equipment sector.
