   This programme equips graduates with a professional understanding of the tools and applications of contemporary economic analysis. It provides up-to-date training in economic concepts and models, as well as in the econometric and data modelling tools used in current empirical economic research. The programme includes modules in both microeconomics and macroeconomics, alongside modules in research skills, econometrics, and data science, with a selection of optional modules. It examines the practical applications of economics in various policy and decision-making areas such as health and well-being, climate change, inequality, fiscal policy, exchange rates, and the balance of payments.

2. Tailored
   The structure of the programme is flexible, allowing students to tailor their studies to their interests and career aspirations.
   There are three pathways:

• MSc Economics, a broad pathway covering a wide spectrum of topics in economics.

• MSc Economics (Sustainable Development), focusing on economic growth and development, as well as the economic analysis of the environment.

• MSc Economics (Data Science), which focuses on the tools of empirical research and analysis used for understanding economic and other real-world problems.

Students also have the opportunity to build critical assets for their CVs, either by:

• Undertaking independent research on a topic of their choice under the mentorship of experts;

• Participating in a real ‘consultancy’ project;

• Completing an internship attachment, subject to available positions and current HMRC rules.

   The programme explores the diverse impacts that economic thinking has on the world. It emphasises the application of economic tools and methods to contemporary debates on a broad range of issues, including monetary policy, business and organisational strategies, and social and environmental initiatives, among others.
