3-Term Pathway - Undergraduate Foundation Program - Engineering and Physical Sciences -Continue to Bachelor of Science (Honours) - Construction Management

The 3-term program offers successful students guaranteed progression to London South Bank University. Students will study their Foundation program at the ONCampus London South Bank University Centre located at the heart of the London South Bank University campus. This extended program is available for students who do not have the required English language level for the 3-term pathway and includes an English language module (ELPP) followed by 3 terms of Undergraduate Foundation Program (UFP).

The program is designed to prepare international students, who have completed senior secondary education, for entry to undergraduate studies at London South Bank University. All students who successfully complete the Undergraduate Foundation Program are guaranteed placement on a suitable program of undergraduate study at London South Bank University. The Undergraduate Foundation Program is set at level 3, which is equivalent to A-level standard in the United Kingdom.

The year begins with an English language module and then the next three terms are divided into seven to eight teaching weeks and one examination week, and half a term of English language. On average, students will undertake 21 (and up to 25) hours of classroom-based study per week.

English Language forms up to six hours of the timetable, is compulsory for students who are below the required level for progression, and will be integrated into the teaching of academic subjects as well as being taught separately if additional support is needed. Students who are at or above the required English level for progression are likely to follow a reduced timetable.

Progression to Bachelor of Science (Honors) - Construction Management

Combining site action with the business side of the building industry, this accredited course equips students with the skills for a career in construction management, allowing them to be involved at every stage of exciting developments across London and beyond.

Students will build a range of technical and managerial construction expertise, along with up-to-date knowledge of legislation and regulations – the bylaws, health and safety regulations, and legal and financial implications of construction projects. The course also prepares students to lead multidisciplinary teams and deliver with confidence in complex environments.

Accredited by the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB), this course prepares students for a career in a range of fields within the built environment, including project management, contracting, consultancy, and house building. The Chartered Institute of Building is the professional body representing the building industry.

The knowledge gained enables students to have the confidence to work with other professionals and to deliver in complex project or process environments. The course covers management and business practice, legal aspects, economics, construction technology and materials, construction planning, project management and finance, and estimating and tendering.
