London Metropolitan University's Sociology (Foundation Year) BSc is a four-year degree designed to lead to an undergraduate qualification in sociology if students don’t hold the necessary requirements or qualifications to enter the undergraduate degree. On graduation, students will receive the same title and award as students who started via the three-year route.
During the foundation year, students will explore a broad range of current themes and social issues from an interdisciplinary perspective. They’ll develop academic study and professional skills for their future career and boost their confidence, especially if they have been out of education for some time. Students will also take one module that is more closely related to sociology, so they’ll be able to prepare for in-depth undergraduate study of the subject in the following years.
An International Bright Futures Scholarship in the amount of £3,000 will automatically be applied to eligible students with overseas fee status starting a degree with London Met in the 2024/25 academic year. This scholarship includes a tuition fee reduction for the duration of students' studies and is applicable to both undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
Tuition Deposit is £4,000 for all students excluding those from Punjab and Haryana for whom the deposit amount will remain at 50%
