In this International Relations BA (Hons) degree, students will examine major social and political issues in the world today, learn from a diverse team of academic experts and gain practical hands-on experience through a work placement. All of this will put them in the best possible position for an exciting career in international relations.
London Metropolitan University's experienced lecturers will work with students to explore the major concepts of international relations – peace, conflict and diplomacy. They’ll then use this theory to explore their own areas of interests, which can be anything from the role of religion, to Middle Eastern politics, to foreign policy analysis, nuclear proliferation or intelligence agencies.
London Met places a huge emphasis on students' employability, which is why they’ll encourage them to undertake a work placement as part of this course. Here’s where studying in the heart of London pays off: students can secure work experience at think-tanks, non-governmental organisations (think Amnesty International) or embassies. This aims to prepare students for the next step in their career journey, whether that’s in graduate employment or further study.
An International Bright Futures Scholarship in the amount of £3,000 will automatically be applied to eligible students with overseas fee status starting a degree with London Met in the 2024/25 academic year. This scholarship includes a tuition fee reduction for the duration of students' studies and is applicable to both undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
Tuition Deposit is £4,000 for all students excluding those from Punjab and Haryana for whom the deposit amount will remain at 50%
