Program Description

The International Foundation Year in Science, Engineering and Computing is designed as a versatile introduction to all three of these subjects. A core focus on Pure Mathematics will provide you with a fundamental understanding of the topic, as well as applicable skills for your further study. The chosen modular section of the course provides options of concentrated pathways such as Advanced Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology, with a view to shape your degree in a way that suits you and the degree you wish to progress to.

Medical engineering applies engineering principles and design concepts to medicine and biology for healthcare purposes. The field seeks to close the gap between engineering and medicine through multidisciplinary working – and engineering knowledge is also used to understand the body better, so that new and innovative tools can be developed for the medical community.

From biomaterials to joint replacement technology, this course will equip you with the knowledge and skills to advance healthcare treatments including monitoring, diagnosis, therapy and rehabilitation.
