Through a combination of theory and practical-based learning, students will develop their expertise in the interdisciplinary sciences of sport performance, drawing on disciplines including biomechanics, nutrition, physiology and psychology. Their studies will allow students to develop the essential knowledge and skills required to pursue a career in sport performance.
Students will advance their practical and research techniques and have the confidence to use performance-measuring equipment and technologies in order to evaluate athletes at all stages of their development. Studying performance approaches within individual and team contexts will allow students to apply these models to virtually any sport.
Students will engage in authentic work-related learning and practical placements in multiple sport settings. As students can apply their knowledge, they will refine theme self-awareness, becoming a sport performance practitioner capable of understanding and responding to their clients’ individual needs so they can achieve their performance objectives while also maintaining or enhancing their health and wellbeing needs.
