Lane Community College's 2+2 is the common way to refer to completing 2 years of general education requirements at a community college plus two years of major specific requirements at a university to complete a 4 year bachelor's degree.
Lane Community College’s dynamic Music program is designed for candidates who are planning be a music major at a four-year institution, students looking to grow as performers, and anyone trying to enrich their life with music. The college's classes can help them progress in their AAOT (Associate of Arts Oregon Transfer) degree, but classes can also prepare them for a career as a professional performer, recording artist, music teacher, music producer, sound engineer, music therapist and more.
From beginning music classes to advanced, audition-only courses, students will find their place in the program with room to grow. The program provides music majors with a solid foundation of core classes (music theory, sight-reading/ear training and keyboard skills), private lessons, and ensemble experiences to help them understand the responsibilities, personal integrity, and work ethic required to become well-rounded musicians, successfully transfer to four-year institutions, and succeed in the field.
