This course offers students a broad understanding of economics, looking at the subject from a range of perspectives and schools of thought. Students will explore why people, businesses, and governments make certain decisions and the consequences of those decisions. It'll challenge their intellect and develop their problem-solving and analytical skills.
Students will gain skills in data analysis, using industry-standard IT facilities. With well-rounded, independent, and critical thinking skills, students will be highly valued by employers. This course builds students' knowledge of core topics and different schools of thought in economics. The Economics BSc (Hons) explores why people, businesses and governments make certain decisions and the consequences of those decisions. Graduates work in a range of occupations, such as economists in the City of London, the civil service (HM Treasury), the public sector, the Bank of England and as managers and consultants at multinational companies. Many also progress to postgraduate study.
