About 4-Term Pathway - Foundation Certificate for Business, Law, and Social Sciences - Transfer to Bachelor of Arts (Honours) - Arabic and Linguistics
Program Description
Build a future by studying in the UK, with a pathway course at Kaplan International College (KIC) London. Situated in the world’s top academic city (QS Best Student Cities 2019), the College will prepare students for a university degree, and for a successful career.
Study at one of the most respected international colleges in London, and progress to one of 8 universities, including the University of Westminster.
The commercially well-connected University of Westminster is hugely international. Students can study alongside students from nearly 170 countries.
The degree offers the exciting combination of the study of Arabic language and culture alongside the wider study of the forms, structures and varieties of language itself.
Students will develop a high level of competence in oral and written communication in Arabic, proficiency in language transfer skills, and a thorough knowledge of Arabic culture. On graduation, students will be able to thrive linguistically in diverse cultural situations.
The linguistics component of the combined degree will develop student understanding and knowledge of language to an advanced and sophisticated level, while fostering and enhancing your skills in using English.
Between Years 2 and 3, students will have the opportunity to spend a full academic year abroad at one of our partner institutions, or undertake an approved form of employment in a country where Arabic is the official language. Students may work as a paid language assistant in a foreign school or undertake a work (or volunteering) placement, both of which give them a valuable opportunity to boost employability while improving the language competence.
The Arabic courses are only available to beginners or 'false beginners' – students may be a false beginner if they are able to read the Arabic script, and/or have the equivalent to one or two years' part-time study.
