Study at one of the most respected international colleges in London, and progress to one of 8 universities, including the University of Bristol.
The University of Bristol is a highly ranked Russell Group university with a fantastic reputation. Students will join a global community of students from more than 150 countries, and enjoy life in one of the UK’s most exciting cities.
Students will learn about the fundamental building blocks and forces of nature and how quantum physics and relativity help understand the world, from the infinitesimal scale of particle and nuclear physics to the cosmic scale of galaxies and the Universe.
Year one gives students a comprehensive grounding in physics and mathematics. In year two they will develop a fundamental understanding of the principles of physics, including practical work in the laboratory and computational physics. Flexibility and choice are key features of a Bristol physics degree, and students are usually able to transfer between courses in the first two years.
In your final year they will undertake a major project or dissertation, working in a research group with a staff member. Students' final-year projects address questions at the frontiers of research fields, and the most successful have been published in scientific journals.
Students will join a friendly department with a very active, award-winning student society. Students are encouraged to develop a broad range of skills, including the experimental, theoretical and analytical skills needed for a career in research and industry. Physics graduates have an excellent record of employment, a testament to the value that employers place on these skills.
The course is accredited by the Institute of Physics.
