About 2.5-Term Pathway - Foundation Certificate for Business, Law, and Social Sciences - Transfer to Bachelor of Science (Honours) - Economics and Finance with Study Abroad

Program Description

Build a future by studying in the UK, with a pathway course at Kaplan International College (KIC) London. Situated in the world’s top academic city (QS Best Student Cities 2019), the College will prepare students for a university degree, and for a successful career.

Study at one of the most respected international colleges in London, and progress to one of 8 universities, including the University of Bristol.

The University of Bristol is a highly ranked Russell Group university with a fantastic reputation. Students will join a global community of students from more than 150 countries, and enjoy life in one of the UK’s most exciting cities.

This course recognises the importance of statistical analysis in these two core disciplines, as well as the benefit of studying econometrics - the application of statistical methods to data to estimate economic models.

The first two years of the degree are focused on building mathematical and analytical abilities, with mandatory units in micro- and macro-economics, mathematics, statistics and econometrics, and the fundamentals of accounting and finance. These allow students to develop the necessary skills to complete the applied economics dissertation in the final year, when students can also choose from a wide range of optional units.

Previously, economics units have included Economics of Developing Countries, Behavioural Economics, and International Economics.

Previous finance units have included Financial Crises, International Finance, and Portfolio Management.

Bristol offers the opportunity to extend the degree to four years and spend a third year studying economics in English at a top-ranking university in Europe or farther afield before returning to Bristol for the final year. This programme allows students to combine the challenging, broad academic content of a Bristol economics degree, with an overseas dimension that reflects the international nature of the economy.
