3 Semester Pathway (Standard GGP) - Undergraduate - Transfer to Bachelor of Business Administration - Computer Information Systems

If you meet the academic entry requirements of a James Madison University bachelor's degree and need to improve your English language IELTS score, we offer the International Year program. International Year (IY) is a fast-track pathway to second-year placement into a James Madison University bachelor's degree. It includes specialized courses in American culture, Intensive English Program (IEP) and study skills to help you adjust to US teaching methods and resources. You’ll also take courses from year 1 of your chosen degree program. The program is split into courses across semesters. Your program duration will depend on your English language skill level on entry.

The Department of Computer Information Systems (CIS) and Business Analytics (BSAN) offers a hands-on, active learning environment that combines cutting edge technology with 21st century business practices. Our curriculum will help you develop strong analytical, technical, organizational and interpersonal skills to prepare you for a broad range of careers in planning, analyzing, designing, implementing and managing information systems. The CIS B.B.A. program is accredited by the Computing Accreditation Commission of ABET, meaning we meet the highest standards in preparing students who are ready to enter the information systems profession upon graduation.

The purpose of an information system is to improve the flow of information within an organization so that better business decisions can be made. The Computer Information Systems (CIS) major prepares students for careers in planning, analyzing, designing, implementing and managing information systems.
