2-Term Pathway - International Foundation Year in Science - Continue to Integrated Masters - Master of Pharmacy (Honours) - Pharmacy

This Master of Pharmacy (MPharm) honours degree, which is accredited by the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC), gives students the medical knowledge and practical skills they need to begin a career as a pharmacist.

Students will study topics including medicinal chemistry, pharmaceutics and therapeutics, and develop patient-focused clinical skills and clinical management skills in lectures, workshops and lab classes.

They'll practice their skills and apply their knowledge using the equipment and facilities they'll use in their career, such as a fully stocked model pharmacy, consultation rooms and a simulated hospital ward, GP surgery, and care home. Students will also interact with patients and members of the public on campus and on short community and hospital-based placements, and check and dispense prescriptions as they shadow qualified pharmacists.

After the course, students can undertake pre-registration training and qualify as a GPhC-registered pharmacist within a year, or work in areas such as drug development or marketing.
