Master of Science - Hydrogeology

Program Description

Hydrogeology at Illinois State knows the important role hydrogeologists play in the environment. That’s why the program focuses only on the field of hydrogeology. This ensures students get all the tools needed for a successful career in the private sector, government, or academia.

Students will conduct research that makes a real, positive impact. Some recent research projects include:

• Surface water-groundwater interaction
• Nutrient cycling
• Impacts of humans and global change in hydrologic and water resource systems
• Flow in karst systems
• Sediment transport

The core curriculum lets students claim the title of hydrogeologist upon graduation. There are jobs across the private sector, government, or higher education.
