About International Year One - Undergraduate Pathway - General (2-Semester Pathway) Transfer to Bachelor of Arts - Legal Studies - Language Integration
International Year One is a supportive program that allows students to earn credits towards their degree while receiving additional academic, cultural and language support customized for international students.
Upon successful completion of the Pathway program and meeting university requirements for undergraduate admission, you may enter your next semester of study at Illinois State University.
Bachelor of Arts - Legal Studies - Language Integration
This major teaches students skills that paralegals use in a law office setting while developing intermediate Spanish language skills to communicate sufficiently with Spanish-speaking clients to facilitate attorney representation of these clients.
“[L]aw firms located in areas with large Spanish-speaking populations are seeking bilingual staff with experience in family-based and employment-based immigration law. These states and other regions with large Hispanic constituencies are also seeing an increase in bilingual legal jobs in the public sector. This is the only paralegal program in the Midwest offering a blend of practical law office skills with language training.
