International Year One is a supportive program that allows students to earn credits towards their degree while receiving additional academic, cultural and language support customized for international students.

Upon successful completion of the Pathway program and meeting university requirements for undergraduate admission, you may enter your next semester of study at Illinois State University.

Bachelor of Arts - Theatre - Theatre Studies

The Theatre Studies major provides students with a broad-based, hands-on education in theatre within the context of a liberal arts degree. After completing a strong core of theatre courses, students have the flexibility to choose specialty courses based on their interests and career orientation in the following areas:

  • stage directing
  • playwriting
  • theatre history
  • creative drama and puppetry
  • integrated performance
  • theatre management
  • film studies

Students will receive a well-rounded educational experience, encompassing academic pursuits in history, criticism, dramaturgy, and theory, as well as creative participation in the performing arts.
