Bachelor of Science - Electrical Engineering - Computer Engineering

At Hofstra, students work to earn their BS in Electrical Engineering, with some electing to concentrate on the intersection of computer hardware and software with a Computer Option. Either path presents a wealth of opportunities to explore new ideas and expand your knowledge as you prepare yourself for a career that is both demanding and very much in demand. As part of the Fred DeMatteis School of Engineering and Applied Science (ranked #35 in the nation by U.S. News & World Report for engineering programs that do not offer a doctoral degree), our electrical engineering students take advantage of an extraordinary array of sophisticated laboratory facilities. These include the Electrical and Signal Processing Lab, the Engineering Computer Lab, the Computer Architecture, Embedded Systems and Mobile Computing Lab, and 14 other engineering and computer science laboratories.

Every electrical engineering student at Hofstra is strongly encouraged to take their knowledge for a test drive in the real world. Our robust co-op education program have placed hundreds of Hofstra students in businesses and institutions throughout the New York Metro area and beyond.
