The BS in Community Health degree is an excellent choice for those who are interested in pursuing a career in the health arena but want to leave their options open. As a student in our interdisciplinary Community Health program, you will build a strong foundation in wellness, health promotion and disease prevention, as well as in the planning, implementation and evaluation of community health programs. You will learn the science of health care, but also gain critical perspective on global health care issues through deep study in the humanities and social sciences. As you advance your understanding of the biological, social, and behavioral factors affecting public health, you will find yourself equipped to work for government agencies, corporate wellness programs, nonprofits, hospitals, and community clinics, among other places. You will also be well-prepared to pursue advanced degrees in public health, health administration, and other programs that will help you ascend the ranks of health care management.
