Program Description

The concentration in Publishing Studies and Literature at Hofstra is one of the nation's premier programs in this field. The publishing studies faculty is largely comprised of active working professionals who teach classes in editing, book design, industry-standard publishing software systems, and marketing.  Both academic and pre-professional, the program combines technical courses with courses in literature, the history of publishing, and the concept of the book. Many students in the program take advantage of internship opportunities with industry leaders like Penguin and Scholastic.
