Program Description

The Creative Writing concentration is for serious writers ready to immerse themselves in their craft. Beginning with the General Creative Writing Workshop and proceeding to intermediate genre seminars and advanced workshops, the program adapts itself to individual students' strengths and challenges. Classes are intimate and interactive, led by our faculty's accomplished poets, playwrights, and fiction and nonfiction writers. As the program's name makes clear, Hofstra's creative writing majors complement their workshops with a concentrated study of literature.
