Program Description

The Recreation and Sport Management undergraduate curriculum offers professional preparation programs designed to prepare students for employment in park, recreation, sport or recreational therapy delivery systems. Whether you wish to serve as a park director, intramural sports and special-event coordinator, public relations specialist, media coordinator, sport marketing executive, athletic director, recreation programmer, recreational therapist or a number of other possible professions... the paths are endless for the aspiring Recreation and Sport Management major in South Florida. The program is oriented toward direct services, supervisory, and management employment opportunities. A student may elect to gain competencies in the following tracks:
Parks Management

Recreational Therapy (Combined BS/MS; Available Online)
The potential career paths for graduates of this track are:
- Recreational therapist in geriatrics (assisted living facilities, skilled nursing facilities, etc.)
- Recreational therapist in community settings (parks and recreation, adult day programs, adapted sports programs, etc.)
- Recreational therapist in mental health (psychiatric hospitals, substance abuse treatment centers, etc.)
