Bachelor of Science - Biotechnology

Pursuing the Bachelor of Science degree with Biotechnology Option will allow students to develop a foundational skill set and knowledge base in molecular biotechnology. Generally, the degree option is built on a core of chemistry, genetics, cellular and molecular biology. They can build on their interests with a variety of available electives: Embryology, Hematology, Immunology, Medical Bacteriology, and Virology, for examples. The central coursework in the biotech option is a year-long biotechnology course series during which students design and conduct original research to develop their scientific skills in molecular biotechniques, troubleshooting and methods optimization, and teamwork.
