Program Description
In this two-year diploma program, students will learn the basics of computer programming and gain experience using both C++ and Python. Students can complete their diploma at Douglas College in one of two streams: game development, or the general information technology stream.
- Game Development stream: With the Game Development stream, students will learn to write code for computer games using industry-standard game development tools such as Unreal Engine. They will also develop entire games, from initial design, to implementation for both computers and virtual reality (VR) devices.
- General Stream: Gives students a combination of academic knowledge and hands-on lab experience to develop real-world computer-based projects. Students get the skills and knowledge in software development, programming and information analysis they need to launch their career as a software engineer, information security analyst, IT manager, database administrator and more.
