Program Description
This full-time, one-year certificate is designed for students interested in completing a bachelor’s degree in engineering at another institution, but are looking for a gradual transition from high school and more one-on-one time with instructors, or are hoping to save a bit of money in tuition fees. The Engineering Foundations program offers the courses for first-year engineering, including chemistry, physics and calculus.
All courses are university transferable. Upon completion of the certificate, students may be eligible for a guaranteed seat in the second year of one of the following programs: SFU or UVic’s engineering degree programs, or UBC's Wood Products Processing degree, an award-winning program that will prepare students for a career in the wood products sector and related fields. The certificate also fulfills several of the required courses for the Engineering and Fabrication Technologies Diploma program, if students prefer to continue their studies at Douglas College.
