Program Description
The General Business Diploma program allows students to prepare for almost any area in the world of business, including transfer to a university, starting a business, managing a business, accounting, computer systems, marketing, sales, supply chain management and international business. Students develop essential business skills (such as in accounting, economics, marketing, and writing) and then customize their program with electives from a wide array of courses in the Faculty of Commerce and Business Administration.
This program has been granted equivalency to the Canadian Institute of Management’s Chartered Management Program (CMP) which can be used towards the Certified in Management (C.I.M.) or Chartered Manager (C.Mgr.) professional designations.
Depending on their chosen electives, students can also be prepared to write industry certification exams in project management, supply chain management or international management. Industry certifications will make students more attractive to potential employers and increase their chances of getting the job that they want.
Students enrolled in this program may be eligible for a Co-operative Education designation. Co-operative Education involves alternating full-time academic and work terms. For information contact the Co-operative Education Office.
This program transfers directly into the BBA programs at Douglas College.
