About 12 Weeks Pre-Sessional English + 3-Term Pathway - Incorporated Bachelor Year Zero in Art and Design - Continue to Bachelor of Arts (Honours) - Illustration with Graphic Design
Students can get the perfect start to their degree at De Montfort University with the International Year Zero (IYZ). Students will take an extra year of study at De Montfort University International College (DMUIC) in order to complete a degree at DMU. Students who take the IYZ will continue to the first year of study of their chosen International Incorporated Bachelor's degree programme at DMU.
This delivery of the IYZ programme includes a twelve week pre-sessional English course immediately preceding entry to the programme. Throughout the pre-sessional English and IYZ programme, students will be supported at DMUIC. Students will have individual subject tutors who will make sure that they are on track to achieve their study goals. Students will be given feedback both in person and in writing so that they always know how they are doing, and how to improve. Students will also be assessed through regular tests and exams.
Bachelor of Arts (Honours) - Graphic Design (Illustration)
Explore and establish creativity through a series of projects and workshops to build a portfolio, focusing on graphic communication, creativity and graphic literacy.
Graphic Design opens the door to an extensive variety of creative roles, from positions in agencies, freelance consultancy, in-house or even opportunities to set up a studio. Advertising, animation, visual effects or stylist, there are many directions a Graphic Design degree can take students.
Students gain the essential experience required to become a successful graphic designer and graduate with an impressive portfolio that demonstrates their skills and talents, showcasing their capabilities to prospective employers.
Not only do students learn how to apply their creativity, students will also be able to develop other areas such as research, analytical and entrepreneurial skills. Teaching staff are practising designers with a range of experience and close industry links, allowing students to spend time working with professional clients, such as the House Design Society.
