About A-Level - French
French at A-Level aims to develop the language skills introduced at GCSE. A comprehensive review is made of all basic grammatical structures before setting out to study the more complex features of the syllabus. Reading, speaking and listening skills are developed equally with a view to ensuring they have rounded skills. French is taught through the listening, speaking, reading and writing skills and the course modules provide the framework for these skills.
Learning another language opens up new opportunities and gives students perspectives that they might never have encountered otherwise. Personal, professional, social and economic considerations all point to the advantages of learning foreign languages. French is one of the official working languages of most international organizations.
