Program Description
Centennial College's Pharmacy Technician program offers a dynamic curriculum based on the National Association of Pharmacy Regulatory Authorities (NAPRA) competencies.
The learner-centred environment fostered in this pharmacy diploma program will allow students to gain the scope of skills needed for the profession, including:
- Receiving, ordering and managing inventory;
- Preparing, dispensing and compounding medications;
- Interacting with patients and a variety of health care providers;
- Assisting in the provision of pharmaceutical care and pharmacy services.
This School of Community and Health Studies program will also focus on inspiring students to embrace the philosophy of lifelong learning by pursuing the Regulated Pharmacy Technician designation. To practice as a pharmacy technician in Ontario, students will be required to complete the Pharmacy Examining Board of Canada exam, Jurisprudence exam and register with the Ontario College of Pharmacists according to its licensing requirements.
Pharmacy technicians are considered valued and essential members of Ontario's interprofessional health care team.
