The Automotive Foundations program provides you with an opportunity to prepare to meet the English communications admission requirements for a Centennial College transportation-based program. You will learn about a variety of passenger, commercial and heavy duty equipment vehicles through the study of component identification, shop safety practices, tool identification and the use of specialized equipment. The development of sound communication and mathematical skills will also be emphasized within a trade context. Throughout the program, you will be able to apply theoretical knowledge to hands-on, practical work, on a variety of training units, vehicles and equipment in a lab environment.
This Trade Foundations provides an alternate entry point and academic support to assist individuals who are missing program admission or completion requirements. It provides a solid foundation of communication and math skills as well as the motor vehicle knowledge to improve the academic success of students when they transfer into a School of Transportation certificate, diploma or apprenticeship program.
Applicants cannot apply directly to this program. This program is an "Alternate Offer" for applicants who apply to but do not meet admission requirements for a Centennial College post-secondary Transportation program.
