About Integrated Masters - Master of Engineering - Electrical and Electronic Engineering (H600) (Sandwich Year)

This accredited course provides individuals with the knowledge, skills, and hands-on experience necessary to become work-ready engineers. Through laboratory sessions and a variety of practical activities, students are able to apply the knowledge gained from lectures and tutorials. The course also offers opportunities for students to complete work placements and sponsorships through the institution's industry connections.

Students will have the chance to explore a range of authentic engineering problems and industry-focused scenarios, both individually and in collaboration with fellow student engineers from different disciplines. Group work is designed to simulate the dynamics of an engineering team and helps students develop important professional skills such as teamwork and communication. The institution's open access makerspace serves as a space for students to engage in design, creation, and collaboration.

Furthermore, students will have the opportunity to undertake a salaried placement in a location of their choice, even outside of the UK. This placement provides valuable experience in a professional working environment and allows students to apply the skills they have acquired. Previous students have successfully completed placements at reputable companies such as Jaguar Land Rover, Network Rail, Siemens, Keysight Technologies, and National Grid.

The MEng program offers students the opportunity to further expand and strengthen their knowledge in electrical and electronic engineering during the final two years of study. Students will benefit from advanced learning in design and management, as well as gain an appreciation for the techniques required to effectively manage and organize a multidisciplinary engineering design project.
