Integrated Masters - Master of Engineering - Civil Engineering (H208) (Sandwich Year)

This accredited course provides individuals with the knowledge, skills, and hands-on experience necessary to become work-ready civil engineers. Through laboratory sessions, field trips, individual projects, and design classes, students will be able to apply the knowledge gained from lectures and tutorials and develop practical abilities in surveying and design.

Students will have the opportunity to choose from a variety of authentic, real-world engineering problems and industry-focused scenarios to work on individually or in collaboration with student engineers from other disciplines. Group work will simulate the dynamics of an engineering team and aid in the development of professional skills, such as teamwork and communication. The open access makerspace serves as a space for students to design, create, and collaborate.

Furthermore, students will have the chance to engage in a paid placement of their choice, including opportunities outside of the UK. This placement provides valuable experience in a professional working environment and allows students to apply the skills they have acquired. Previous students have successfully completed placements at prestigious companies such as Arup, WSP, and Mott MacDonald. The MEng program offers the opportunity to expand and enhance knowledge in civil engineering, with a focus on advanced learning in design and management, as well as a multidisciplinary engineering design project.
