About Bachelor of Science - Biological Sciences (Zoology) (C300)

Our Biological Sciences (Zoology) degree is designed for individuals with a keen interest in the expansive field of animal biology. This interdisciplinary course draws upon the extensive research expertise found within our School. In addition to exploring the evolution and diversity of various animal groups, Students will also have the opportunity to delve into modules covering ecology, physiology, and genetics. Our faculty members, many of whom are renowned leaders in their respective fields, ensure that the course content remains closely aligned with their research interests. This not only provides them with an engaging learning experience within an active research environment but also ensures that the topics covered are highly relevant and significant in today's world.

Fieldwork is an integral part of our Zoology degree, allowing them to develop invaluable research techniques. Throughout their time at Cardiff, they will have the chance to participate in field research projects. Moreover, we offer specialized, project-based field courses both in the UK and abroad. These opportunities enable them to gain practical experience and further enhance their skills.

Similar to other degrees in the School of Biosciences, our Zoology course offers flexibility in tailoring there studies to align with there own interests and career aspirations. Furthermore, degree title remains flexible until there final year, giving them the option to continue with a BSc in Biological Sciences (Zoology) or switch to another bioscience degree within the first two years of study. Their final degree title will depend on the modules they select, and there Personal Tutor will provide guidance in exploring the available options. Additionally, they may have the opportunity to transfer to four-year MBiol integrated master's degree, which serves as an excellent foundation for a future career in scientific research.
