About Bachelor of Arts (Honours) - Theology with foundation year

The Theology course has a dedicated focus on Christian traditions and students will also study elements of other religions, philosophy and ethics.

During the foundation year students will be introduced to theology and religion, and they'll gain skills to prepare them to study at degree level.

Students will start the degree by exploring Christianity, biblical studies, philosophy, ethics and world religion. The Theology course has a dedicated focus on Christian traditions and students will also study elements of other religions, philosophy and ethics.

As single honours students, they'll start by exploring Christianity, biblical studies, philosophy, ethics and world religions. Those who are combining with another subject, they will take the compulsory modules on the Bible, Christianity, and Philosophical Reflection. In Years 2 and 3, they'll deepen their knowledge and work with increasing independence. Students will be able to select optional modules enabling them to focus on particular areas of theology, which they'll study in depth. Using the the research and analytical skills that students develop throughout the course, they'll carry out an individual study/research in their final year, enabling students to explore an aspect or issue in theology in depth.
