Bachelor of Science (Honour) - Nursing - Adult - Pre-registration Nursing

This BSc Adult Nursing Degree course focuses on adult patients with a diverse range of health and dependency needs, including physical and emotional care requirements. In particular, it also addresses the needs of the ageing population. It offers an integrated academic and professional training environment, which is built to help students to gain crucial knowledge and skills to develop a career in contemporary nursing practice.

During the initial stages of the course students will be given more direction and assistance to help them progress, from being a dependent learner, towards becoming an autonomous, reflective and critical individual as their knowledge develops. As the course progresses, there is an expectation that students will evolve into becoming independent and self-directed, taking increasing responsibility for their own learning and professional development. Upon successful completion of this award, students can register as a qualified adult nurse with the NMC.

The programme consists of six practice learning experiences, ensuring that students maximise their learning opportunities. Practice learning will help with the acquisition of skills required to achieve competence within the adult nursing field of practice.
