Advanced Master's Accelerator - Master of Community Planning

The Advanced Master’s Accelerator Program is a one-semester program designed specifically for international students who are ready to succeed in immersive English-speaking classrooms but who also want the benefit of English- language and academic training that will help them succeed in their post-graduate program. The program curriculum offers a balance of professional and MAP-exclusive courses. Students will be equipped with the practical, degree-specific vocabulary and research skills needed to excel in their coursework. Advanced MAP students will be enrolled as full-time students within the Advanced Master’s Accelerator Program and will earn 6 credits toward their selected degree.

The Community Planning program at Auburn University is a professionally oriented master's degree program that focuses on the skills that professional planners need for practice in an interactive and interdisciplinary environment. The centerpiece of the program is the opportunity for students and faculty to engage with underserved communities throughout Alabama and the Southeast through outreach, teaching, and engaged research. Through working on these projects, students learn to help diverse and complex communities create and implement plans that improve and protect their quality-of-life, culture, resource base, built environment, natural environment, and economic vitality.
