About Bachelor of Arts - Environmental Science - Environmental Justice
The study of human impact on Earth's ecosystems and resources, as well as how these impacts are distributed across communities and ecosystems, has become increasingly important over the past 20 years. The Bachelor of Arts program in Environmental Science with a concentration in Environmental Justice is dedicated to preparing students to find solutions to today's critical environmental challenges posed by pollution, resource access, and climate change. Additionally, this concentration provides students with a foundation in moral theories and social policies, along with communication skills that prepare them to advocate for marginalized communities, which may be disproportionately affected by environmental issues and policies.
This degree program is based on established scientific research in areas such as organismal and ecosystem biology, chemistry, hydrology and water resources, and geographic information systems. The program's distinguished faculty, who come from the natural sciences, social sciences, and philosophical fields of study, conduct research globally and engage students in creating new scientific policies that positively impact a rapidly changing world.
To further prepare students, the program includes an emphasis on management and communication skills necessary for various environmentally specific careers.
