Bachelor of Science - Engineering Science

The BS in Engineering Science allows students to explore and discover the connections between different areas of natural science with engineering and physics. It allows them to integrate engineering, physics, chemistry, and biology with the arts, social sciences, and humanities. Whether they choose an Engineering Science major, or one of Alma's transfer programs there' a place for them at Alma College.

The field of engineering incorporates many branches, from aerospace to mechanical, chemical and civil engineering. Students will have the opportunity to build a career that caters to their specific area of interest.

Regardless of their chosen path, students will develop a solid understanding of the principles of engineering, complemented by a concentration area in one of the natural sciences. And they’ll graduate from Alma armed with the critical thinking, problem-solving, collaboration and communication skills vital to their success as an engineer. 

Students in engineering will conduct original research and design and fabricate their own projects in Alma’s state-of-the-art facilities. In the machine shop (and fast-prototyping, digital fabrication and soft lithography labs), Students will learn new techniques and develop skills they’ll use in their future career.

Alma graduates have gone on to work in mechanical, environmental, biomedical and civil engineering, as well as pursuing advanced study in some of the best engineering schools in the country.
