The MSc International Finance and Banking degree programme provides students with the knowledge and skills required for a successful career in banking, with an emphasis on the international banking business.
The knowledge students gain will be applied within a framework of corporate governance and sustainability, equipping them with the skills to appreciate and evaluate the crucial role that ethical governance plays in the success of international business organisations such as banks. These skills will be underpinned by sound financial theories, concepts and empirical evidence.
Students will gain an in-depth understanding of international finance with the banks as the purveyors of finance in a globalised world. Students will study banking and financial intermediation, international financial markets and the roles that banks play in those markets. Students will examine and evaluate the importance of central banking and international regulatory frameworks such the Basel III and the important roles they play in maintaining a sound international financial system. Throughout the degree, students will have the opportunity to study and understand the concept of risk management, especially with respect to managing portfolios of bank risk assets.
