About University of Exeter INTO Centre
The University of Exeter is renowned for combining world-class research with exceptional student satisfaction. Founded in 1851 as the Exeter Schools of Art and Science, the university has a long history of dedication to discovery and transforming lives through education. It became the University College of the South West in 1922, was granted its Charter in 1955, and achieved full university status to become the University of Exeter.
In 1978, St Luke’s College of Education (established in 1840) became part of the university, and in 2004, the Penryn Campus was opened, further expanding higher education provision in Cornwall. Today, the University of Exeter is proud to be a Russell Group member, recognised for its ongoing commitment to research and teaching excellence.
