J. Addison School

J. Addison School (JAS) opened in 2002 and is now located in Markham, Ontario. It embraces the Ontario curriculum which provides one of the best educational systems and curriculum in the world. School's Ontario Certified Teachers work with Ontario Ministry Curriculum Guidelines as the foundation for providing lessons that will prepare our students for any paths they choose to pursue in post-secondary. The unique "Focus For Success®" adaptive program, or simply referred to as FFS, complements the Ontario curriculum and adds another dimension to JAS students’ overall development. The FFS program is implemented as a 5th Period in the regular school schedule, where students will receive academic support, ESL for example, if needed, and/or participate in extra-curricular activities of their choice to further enrich their student life. Besides the general high school academic programs, JAS also offers the Advanced Placement (AP) program as well as educational pathway to post-secondary academic pursuit.

Why J. Addison School

• Course variety: In addition to the Ontario curriculum, J. Addison School typically offers Advanced Placement courses in the areas of Biology, Chemistry, Calculus, Computer Science, Economics, English, Physics, and World History.
• ESL support: ESL students are welcome to access all programs and services at J. Addison School. There are several programs designed specifically for ESL students in mind, and it has fully trained ESL teachers and support staff, as well as individualized ESL support programs, books, and other resources.
• Extracurricular activities: J. Addison School uses a multifaceted developmental approach that enables effectiveness and versatility for student learning. As part of its quality education, it offers a variety of activities such as arts, sports, music, leadership, and other after-school programs to further enrich student life. Some of the offerings available include Basketball Team, Badminton Team, Inter-House Tournaments, Year Book, Student Council, Dance, Arts/Photography, Band, and Leadership Camp, to name just a few.
• Facilities: In February 2013, J. Addison School took occupancy of its new 58,000 square foot school building. Facilities in the spacious and state-of-the-art building featuring large and modern art classrooms, gymnasium, dance studio, cafeteria, dormitory residences, library, Science Laboratory, and so much more!
