About International School of Management (ISM) - Munich (München)

The International School of Management (ISM) was founded in Dortmund in 1990. In July 2004, it became the first private university in North Rhine-Westphalia and the second nationwide to receive institutional accreditation from the German Wissenschaftsrat (Science and Humanities Council) for the maximum possible period of ten years. In June 2016, the Wissenschaftsrat decided to grant accreditation for another ten years. The ISM is thus the first private business school nationwide to receive accreditation for ten years twice in a row.

ISM has seven campuses spread across Germany. Located in close proximity to thriving companies and bustling economic centers, our offer many opportunities for cooperation. Whether you choose to study at an ISM campus in the northernmost regions, the southernmost parts, or right in the heart of the country, you can take advantage of valuable connections with nearby employers. Our students are also well integrated into their home campus. Small learning groups ensure a personal atmosphere and encourage meaningful interaction between students and their professors.

Why International School of Management (ISM) - Munich (München)

  • Innovation Hub: Munich is the perfect study destination for those who enjoy living and studying in an innovative hub of high-tech and technology. Belonging to the top five German university cities thanks to its over 20 universities, Munich is also the seat of various prestigious research institutions (like several Max Planck and Fraunhofer institutes). Also when it comes to global technology, economics and education sciences, Munich is a landmark. Important international companies are headquartered there and cooperate with Munich's universities.
  • Location: The Munich campus is just a few minutes walk from Königsplatz in the center of Munich and thus easily accessible from the main train station. The students there particularly appreciate the contrasts that make the Bavarian capital so special - cosmopolitan young people and traditions, big-city atmosphere and rural charm. The most important economic sectors in Munich are vehicle and mechanical engineering, tourism, electrical engineering as well as the IT industry. In addition, the Bavarian capital city is an important German media location.
  • City Life: Many think of Munich as the city of the Oktoberfest, the world-famous folk and beer festival. But Munich has a lot more to offer than this: it is home to the football club FC Bayern München for whom students can cheer in the famous stadium Allianz Arena and it hosts the world's largest museum for Science and Technology as well as the German Museum (Deutsches Museum). Besides the vibrant cultural life, students can always enjoy food in a nice traditional restaurant, spend time in a beer garden, take a walk in the green lung of the city, the park Englischer Garten, or even take a trip to the Bavarian Alps.
