About Briercrest Christian Academy

Briercrest is a community of learning that calls students to seek the kingdom of God, to be shaped profoundly by the scriptures, and to be formed spiritually and intellectually for lives of service. Briercrest has been preparing leaders for over 80 years. Briercrest Christian Academy's ministry emerged from a community of believers who valued the Word of God and wanted to provide Bible training. That commitment remains at the heart of what they do and why they exist. Their aim is to call students to become fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ, and their approach to reaching this goal is increasingly unique in the educational landscape.

Briercrest Christian Academy is a small school with big school facilities. They enjoy the intimacy of being a small school, and consequently, they are able to nurture strong bonds between students and faculty. However, as a part of Briercrest, they are able to provide academic, athletic, and fine arts resources that are truly "big school".

BCA is a private Christian school with public school district support. They value the remarkable opportunity to nurture students by building into their spiritual development in all aspects of  the school life. They benefit from scholastic accountability, professional development, and local competition in fine arts and athletics through a partnership with Prairie South School Division.

This is a homegrown institution with a dorm student legacy. Briercrest and BCA have been blessed with a strong heritage of faithful investment since 1935 and 1946, respectively. And it's still true that whether students live five minutes away, half an hour away, or 18 hours away, they have a place for all students. BCA provides an educational home for students, and a dorm program for students from around Canada and the world.

Why Briercrest Christian Academy

  • Campus: Briercrest Christian Academy shares a campus with Briercrest College and Seminary in the village of Caronport, SK. Caronport is located directly off of the Trans Canada highway about 15 minutes west of Moose Jaw and an hour west of Regina. Being close to these city centres gives students access to everything they need while enjoying the community and pace of small-town life.
  • Facilities: About 45% of the student body is part of the dorm program. Most students are in grades 10–12, but there are cases where grade 9 students are accepted into the dorm program as well. There are generally two students in each room, each student having a twin bed, desk with drawers, and closet on their side of the room. Each floor has a communal bathroom that students share with one another.
  • Co-curricular activities: From spiritually focused events to crazy activities, there’s always lots going on at BCA. These events strengthen the community and allow students to make a ton of fun memories with their friends. This includes a Grad retreat, Harvest party, Christmas gala banquet, Grade 12 ski trip, Spiritual emphasis week, Youth Quake, Spring Sadie, Cheescake café, and the Student Leadership Council.
  • Culture: Briercrest is a small-town community with a global mission. While the community of Caronport is relatively small, students from all over the world are regularly welcome to study and learn. And, just as importantly, the school learns from them. Although a safe living environment is offered, Briercrest endeavours to raise students' awareness about their place on the planet -- and the Lord's call on their lives to reach beyond their borders and change the world, one moment at a time.
  • A high school with a college campus on the doorstep: At BCA, students can enjoy the benefits of reasonable class sizes, caring teachers, and quality programs; and they can get a head start on their future. The senior-level Christian Ethics students have the option of taking a first-year college course for credit. As well, the semesters are structured to provide students (if their schedules permit) to take other first-year college courses, which will facilitate either a smoother transition to their local college or another university.
