SUNY Poly Merit-Based Scholarships

Eligibility Criteria

• Open exclusively to incoming first-year students (freshmen).
• Students must enroll full-time, taking at least 12 credit hours of degree-required courses each term to maintain eligibility.
• In the final term, if fewer than 12 credit hours are needed to complete degree requirements, scholarships will be prorated based on credits taken.
• Students must register for classes by the last day of the add/drop period to qualify for the scholarship.
• A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 is required at the start of each full term to retain the scholarship.
• For 1+2+1 nursing scholarship recipients, a 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA must be achieved at St. Elizabeth’s College of Nursing to reinstate the award upon returning to SUNY Poly for the fourth year.

Scholarship Value and Renewal

• Award amounts vary based on academic merit and a holistic review of the applicant’s high school curriculum.
• Scholarships are renewable for up to four years (eight full-time undergraduate semesters) provided eligibility criteria are continuously met.
• No separate application is required; all incoming freshmen are automatically considered.

Important Notes

• Scholarships are specifically for first-year students and cannot be awarded to transfer or continuing students.
• Maintaining full-time enrollment and academic standards is essential to continue receiving the scholarship.
• The scholarship supports students committed to academic excellence and progression toward their degree.
