International Excellence Award

Eligibility Criteria

• Must be a first-time, full-time F-1 international student admitted to a bachelor’s or master’s degree program at NAU’s Flagstaff campus.
• Enrollment in classes for the upcoming semester is required.
• A minimum 3.0 GPA at the time of admission is necessary.
• Submission of required financial documentation for I-20 issuance is mandatory.

• Are sponsored by a government or other organization.
• Receive assistantships, full athletic scholarships, or other tuition waivers.
• Are enrolled in dual-degree programs, community college bridge programs, or the Program in Intensive English (PIE).
• Participate in the Programa de Beneficios de Pago (PROBEP) tuition benefit program.

Scholarship Value and Benefits

• Provides up to $11,000 per year toward NAU tuition and fees.
• Award amounts vary based on eligibility and availability.
• Disbursed as an out-of-state tuition waiver only.
• Covers tuition charges up to the award amount but does not apply to mandatory or special class fees, housing, meal plans, or other non-tuition expenses.

Application Process

• No separate application is required. Eligible students are automatically considered upon submitting a complete international admission application.
• Awards are granted on a first-come, first-served basis, so early application is encouraged.

Renewal Conditions

• Renewable each academic year for the duration of the degree program.
• Requires maintaining a minimum 3.0 GPA and full-time enrollment status.
• Students must meet all mandatory attendance requirements to retain the scholarship.
