Global Opportunity Scholarship
Overview
The Global Opportunity Scholarship at Avila University Arizona offers international graduate students a valuable financial award to support their academic journey. This scholarship recognizes outstanding students from specific global regions, providing up to $3,000 to help cover tuition costs over three semesters.
Eligibility Criteria
The scholarship is available to international students admitted to a graduate program at Avila University Arizona, with eligibility determined by country of citizenship within the following regions:
- The Americas Scholarship: Citizens of Latin America, the Caribbean, or Brazil
- Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) Scholarship: Citizens of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, or Uzbekistan
- Europe, the Middle East, and Africa Scholarship: Citizens of Turkey or any country in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East
- East and Southeast Asia Scholarship: Citizens of China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Mongolia, Brunei, Burma (Myanmar), Cambodia, Timor-Leste, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, the Philippines, Vietnam, North Korea, South Korea, or Japan
- Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, and Bhutan Scholarship: Citizens of Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, or Bhutan
Scholarship Value
- Total award amount: $3,000
- Disbursed as $1,000 per semester for up to three semesters
- The first $1,000 is an entrance scholarship awarded in the first semester
- Remaining $2,000 awarded in subsequent semesters, contingent on maintaining eligibility
Renewal Requirements
To maintain the scholarship for the full duration, recipients must:
- Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
- Be enrolled as a full-time student at Avila University Arizona
- Remain in good academic and institutional standing
- Have no financial holds on their student account
Important Notes
- The Global Opportunity Scholarship is available for the 2025 and 2026 intakes only
- The scholarship will no longer be available starting Spring 2027
