First-year Freshman Scholarships

KU offers generous renewable scholarships for freshman and transfer students based solely on high school GPA. Incoming first-year students for spring or fall 2026 can receive awards between $8,000 and $16,000 per year, with international students eligible to earn up to $64,000 throughout their KU journey. To qualify, students must enroll full-time (at least 12 credit hours) and maintain a 3.0 GPA at KU. These scholarships renew for up to eight semesters or until completion of the first bachelor’s degree. Note: fully online bachelor’s students are not eligible.
