- Be classified as an overseas fee payer for tuition fee purposes
- Have sufficient funds to cover living costs, visa, and travel expenses
- Start studies in September 2026 (deferrals are not permitted)
- Be domiciled in India at the time of application
- Be registered with and submit their scholarship application through one of the University’s local representatives in India by 30 June 2026
- Pay the net tuition fees for the first year by 31 October 2026 upon enrolment
Exclusions
- Applicants to MBChB Medicine and Surgery or BDS Dental Surgery programmes are not eligible
- The scholarship cannot be combined with any other awards
Application Process
- Accept an offer from the University of Birmingham and confirm it as the firm choice
- Register with one of the University’s local representatives in India
- Submit the scholarship application through the local representative by the deadline of 30 June 2026
- Selection is based primarily on academic merit and a scholarship Statement of Purpose
- In rare cases where academic merit alone does not determine the awardee, applicants may be invited to an online interview
